About Me

By Malachi Zenith-Xanadu

Why am I here?  What am I doing?  What is the purpose?
I feel inside the pains of the past.  My life a mere
outcome of the events surrounding me.

The hate.  The tragedy.  The blame.  I look forward and see him.
The one who can save me.  The one who knows me.  The one
I am alive for.

I look in his eyes and see myself.  Not who I am, but who
I could be.  I begin to walk closer and I feel his
breath.  I feel the warmth as he holds me close.

Tears run down my face.  Not tears of sorrow, but tears of
joy.  My life is complete.  My life is whole.  This series
of unfortunate events comes to a close.

As my frown becomes a smile, I look up at him.  The one
who saved me.  I look deep into his eyes.  But this time
I see who I am.  I see myself.

I look back into the past but now feel joy.  What some called a
fool's hope has now paid off.  All this hard work has led to this.
A life and a person I would die for.  I've found my denouement.
